Video Highlights: Travel Oregon City Video Project

Anyone who’s familiar with the Oregon winter knows there aren’t a lot of good weather days, especially for flying drones. But last week I finally got to take up my Phantom 4 for the first time in over two months. I went and got some overview shots of the Frank C. Barnes house for a series on Portland’s historic homes.

Despite the sun, it was extremely windy, so I didn’t get a lot of great sweeping shots. To get an idea of what the wind was like, check out the last clip, as the drone is flying over the house. If you look at the awning on the left side of the house, that’s how windy it was. In any case, given the conditions, and how little sun we’ve had the last few months, I’m pretty happy with the results.

The Frank C. Barnes House, also known as the Barnes Mansion, is located in northeast Portland, Oregon, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Most famously, Author Beverly Cleary used it as a haunted house in her Ramona Quimby series.
