Client Spotlight: Feral Cats Coalition Of Oregon

We're so excited to share some of the amazing work we did for the Feral Cats Coalition of Oregon! The FCCO is a 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) of feral and free-roaming cats in the state of Oregon. We had the privilege of working with them on their Catio Tours project.

As a Portland, Oregon-based company, we were thrilled when the Feral Cats Coalition of Oregon asked us to help them with their Catio Tours! The tours are designed to raise awareness about the importance of providing outdoor spaces for indoor cats. We provided video and photography for the tour, and it was a great opportunity to learn more about this important issue.

In all, we produced ten tour videos, along with photos, drone footage, and 360 degree photos, for FCCO. The client was so happy with our work, they've already reached out to us regarding this year's catio tour as well.

What Is A Catio?

When FCCO asked us to make a catio tour video, our first question was, what is a catio. We'd never even heard of a catio before.

A catio is an enclosure that allows cats to enjoy the outdoors safely. Catios come in all shapes and sizes and can be as simple or complex as you like. Some catios are attached to the side of a house and have a few small windows, while others are stand-alone structures with multiple levels, tunnels, and climbing areas. No matter what type of catio you choose, your cat will love spending time in it!

If you're thinking about getting a catio for your feline friend, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, you'll need to decide on the size and style of catio you want. You'll also need to think about where you want to place the catio and how you want to access it. Once you have a plan in place, you can start shopping for the perfect catio for your feline friend.

How Does A Catio Benefit The Environment?

Catios can be small and simple or large and complex, and they offer a variety of benefits for both cats and the environment.

One of the most important benefits of a catio is that it helps to keep cats safe from predators and traffic. By keeping cats contained in a safe space, catios help to reduce the number of outdoor cats that are killed each year. In addition, catios also help to reduce the number of birds and other small animals that are killed by roaming cats.

Another important benefit of a catio is that it provides cats with a stimulating environment. Catios can be filled with a variety of toys, climbing structures, and other enrichment items to keep cats entertained and engaged. This is important for cats that are kept inside all day and aren't allowed to roam free all day.

Each year, house cats kill billions of birds. (You read that number correctly!) While most of these kills go unnoticed, the number of birds killed by cats is significant enough to have a major impact on bird populations around the world.

There are a few different factors that contribute to the high number of bird deaths at the hands of house cats. First, cats are natural predators of birds. They are equipped with sharp claws and teeth that make them well-suited for hunting. Second, cats often view birds as toys and will play with them until they kill them. Finally, many cats are allowed to roam freely outdoors, which gives them ample opportunity to hunt birds.

While there are several ways to reduce the number of bird deaths caused by cats, the most effective solution is to keep cats indoors. This is why catios have become so popular. It's a simple, long-term solution that's great for both cats and the environment.

How Our Video And Photography Helped This Non-Profit's Work

In June of 2021, the FCCO reached out to us on the recommendation of Portland Audubon, who we've partnered with previously, to help tell their organization’s story and better communicate their mission to the community.

Our professional videography, photography, drone, and 360-degree photography has helped the FCCO take their storytelling to the next level and connect with more people in a more meaningful way.

Thanks to our work, the FCCO has been able to better communicate their message and reach a wider audience. Our tour videos also make it possible for them to raise more funds to support their important work in and around Portland.

How You Can Leverage 360-Degree Photography And Video To Market Your Business

360-degree photography and video is a relatively new technology that is becoming increasingly popular in the world of online marketing. This type of content allows viewers to see a scene from all angles, giving them a more immersive experience. And because it's still a relatively new technology, it can help your business to stand out from the competition.

There are many different ways you can use 360-degree content to market your business. For example, you can give potential customers a virtual tour of your office or store, or you can allow them to experience your products or services in a new way. You can even use 360-degree content to create an augmented reality experience for your customers.

If you're looking for a new and innovative way to market your business, 360-degree photography and video are definitely worth exploring.
